A video from a primary school in Beijing has become popular online in recent weeks. The star is not a new building or a smart device. It is a bench, and the bench is nothing more than one long horizontal bar fixed along a wall. Parents who wait at the school gate every afternoon can sit on it or lean against it. Many viewers left the same message: every city should have one.
The design looks almost too simple, but it fits the place very well. Space outside a school gate is always limited. At pick-up time, parents, cars, bicycles and children crowd into the same small area. A normal bench would block the way, while a single bar takes almost no room. It can be fixed along a wall or beside a green belt without disturbing anyone who passes by.
Cities in other provinces soon began to copy the idea, and most of them made it better. In Yantai, Shandong, two bars stand outside a primary school. Each is thirty metres long, and together they can seat more than a hundred parents. The local government widened the seat from nine centimetres to twelve and changed its curve, so that sitting no longer hurts. In Jiangmen, Guangdong, steel parts are made in a factory and put together on site, which makes the work fast and repairs easy. In Shunde, workers simply turned an old steel railing into a seat.
The bar also carries a larger idea. In the past, many cities preferred big projects that look impressive in photographs, while small daily problems were often ignored. Waiting parents had no place to sit for years, yet nobody treated it as a problem worth solving.
Not every good public service has to be expensive or high-tech. Sometimes a thin steel bar, placed in the right spot, tells people that their small troubles are noticed. That may be the warmest sign of a well-run city.

In Jiangmen, Guangdong, steel parts are made in a factory and put together on site, which makes the work fast and repairs easy.
主干是 steel parts are made in a factory and put together on site(两个并列的被动谓语 are made 和 (are) put together,第二个 are 被省略)。
which makes the work fast and repairs easy

-
- T(正确)。 A video from a primary school in Beijing has become popular online,即走红的地点正是北京的一所小学。
-
- Thirty metres. Each is thirty metres long。
-
- A. railing。第三段末句写 workers simply turned an old steel railing into a seat。curve 和 factory 都在同一段出现过(changed its curve / made in a factory),属于「文中出现过就选」的陷阱,判断时必须回看搭配是否成立。
